to UNESCO's objectives, Trace Element - Institute for
UNESCO has established a network of satellite centres
throughout the world in order to encourage sustainable
development. Scientific research and education on trace
elements is improved by the establishment of permanent
centres. As the importance of trace elements is dependent
of the enironment and the ecosystem, each centre develops
its education and research programme in relation to the
needs of its country. The multidisciplinary nature of
the centres enhances international scientific collaboration."
